CONTINUOUS CONDUCTION MODE ABSTRACT The switched reluctance motor(SRM) has a simple design consists of a rotor without windings and stator with windings located at the poles. The inherent simplicity, ruggedness, and low cost of SRM make it possess strong competition in many adjustable speed and servo-type applications. Due to is non linear magnetic and mechanical characteristics torque ripple is produced in these machines. Direct Torque Control(DTC) is one of the control method which is widely used for the mitigation of torque ripples. In DTC without angle adjustment(turn on & conduction angles) resulting torque is higher or lower than the desired torque. This drawback of DTC is overcome by some advanced control techniques. In this project, a new torque control method is used. In this conduction angle is readjusted using a current regulation algorithm. SRM non linear model is simulated in MATLAB-SIMULINK using current and torque look up tables. These look up tables are created using the magnetization data of SRM.
