This will be the final lesson on this practical unit of soccer. Students will gain the fundamental

performance. This lesson will also be done outside on the oval so the students will get a sense of
indoor and outdoor soccer. Students will compete in a soccer tournament.

strategies.

Students will be able to use and demonstrate the skills and techniques they have learnt over the
past few weeks during game situations.

Teaching Cues for Technical Demand:

Penalties:
Occur when an opposing team player pushes, trips, holds, strikes, intentionally kicks or
charges a player.
A direct free is awarded to the opposition and is taken from where the penalty occurred.
If the violation occurs in the offending teams penalty area, a free kick is taken 10 yards from
the goal which only the goalie can defend.

Offside:
A player is offside when he/she is nearer the opponents goal line than the ball is at the
moment the ball is played unless,
o The player is in his/her own half of the field or
o At least 2 opponents are as near their own goal line as the player is
A free kick is awarded to the opposing team at the spot where the offside occurred.
