Moore siddent BSC RadTech Program Receives Continuing National Accreditation for Maximum Eight-Year Period ‘The Radiologic Technology program at Blucficld State College has just received official notification that it bas been awarded continuing national accreditation for the maximum cight-year period from the Joint Review ‘Committe on IEducation in Radiologie Technology URCERT). In 26, 2001. letter te BSC President Dr. Robert Moore, Janis Stiewing, Chait RCERT, noted, ~The Joint Review Committee oa Educction »gic Technology Directors and staff comzratu you and the program faculty for achicving the maxi mum award of accreditation from the JRCERT and wish you continuing success in your efforts to provide 2 quality educational program.” The JRCERT is recognized by tie US, Department of Education as the national agency for the accreditation of educational programs for the radizraph- er and radiation therapist and is respons ble for all accreditation actions. The JRCERT decision was made at the accrediting bouy’s October 2001 meeting. ou following the BSC RadTech program's evaluation, acconding to the Standards for an Accredited Educational Program in Radiologic Sciences (1997). Specialized accreditation awarded by the IRCERT offers institutions significant value by providing peer evaluation and by assuring the public of quali professional education in the radiologic sciences. ‘The BSC RadTech program is taught at the College’s Bluefield and Beckley campuses.
