2. 9/11/14 - Complete text reading on Wedding Cake Model of Criminal Justice (attachment available online)
3. 9/16/14 - In groups of two or three (or on your own), complete written response questions on page 30
together, explaining perhaps why you were able to form a consensus on the gun-control issue at hand or
perhaps explaining why group members dissented. Students should be sure to apply concepts from the chapter
where possible.
4. 9/18/14 - Students should read The Devil in Disguise on page 38, You Be the Judge: The Tumor Made Me Do
It on page 43, and Myth vs. Reality on page 47. Students (in pairs if you are okay with it) will identify the
theme of each story. Then they will identify what all three stories have in common. Finally, they will write their
own fictionalized story of a few paragraphs that follows the basic theme of one of the three true crime stories
that they read.
