AVID 11th online blended:
AVID students are enrolled in one BLOCK of the AVID elective at JFK. In addition to
academic support through tutorials, AVID students receive training in college level
reading and writing, organizational and time management strategies and study skills.
AVID students will map their goals, explore careers, choose probable college majors,
and create a list of universities where they wish to apply.
AVID teachers will assist AVID students in selecting Norco College courses and JFK
courses which will fulfill the A-G Requirements for entrance into University of
California or California State University campuses, as well as many private and out-of-
state universities. AVID students tour colleges on field trips and/or virtual tours,
helping students gain perspective on campus life. Additionally, AVID students will
learn about financial aid options, and apply for scholarships. The online blended
model gives students the flexibility to complete the AVID elective online while taking
advantage of everything JFK and Norco College have to offer.

from a website directly.

Expectations for Behavior:
As an AVID student, you stand for something special. You should be proud of yourself
and what you are trying to accomplish. Good behavior is essential for learning.
People have difficulty learning in a disruptive, unpleasant environment. For this
reason, good behavior is mandatory to remain in the AVID program. Always remember
why you are here, and set a good example in all of your classes by following the
specific rules for each class.
