Introduction ( 5 min.):
Attention Grabber: (After students have time to change)- tell them today we are going to work on our stick handling so
we can be like Pavel Datsyuk
Assessment of Prior Knowledge: Ask who has layed hockey before and at what levels!

Body (50 min.):
Warm up: Freeze Tag- (5 minutes) One person is it and if you get tagged you must spread your legs and someone
will come rescue you by sliding under.

in ready position. W(en t(ey get tagged t(ey (a"e to stic& (andle in around t(e circle in t(e opposite direction and
come bac& to t(e spot before t(e opposing player does. (5 minutes)

%tudents will be split up into 3 teams of fi"e. T(ey will be re4uired to ma&e a team name and c(eer as a team. T(ey
will t(en stic& (andle t(roug( t(e pylons and run bac& on t(e opposite side. (spin around 5 times1 $+ 5umping
5ac&s1 sit ups or pus( ups on t(e end) W(en t(ey come bac& t(ey will be re4uired to form a letter1 ma&e a pyramid
ect. First team to complete t(e tas& wins. (best out of t(ree)

- 7i"ide students up into 3 teams of fi"e () wit( 8) and (a"e t(em on opposite sides of t(e court. ,ac( student
recei"es a number between one and fi"e. T(e teac(er will t(en yell out numbers suc( as ($1 )1 and 3) and t(en it
becomes a game of 2 on 2. T(e teac(er may say ()) in w(ic( case it is a game of one on one. T(ere are no goalies
in t(is game. %tudents &eep trac& of t(e number of times t(ey put t(e ball in t(e net. W(en teac(er calls new
numbers t(e old number simply return to t(eir side of t(e court.
