Positive Development:

Coaches give positive instruction to develop players skills, situational awareness, effort, and confidence. Criticism
from any source is not allowed at the field.

Players take ownership of their development. Coaches provide players with honest assessment, instruction, and
encouragement to reach their goals.
We teach advanced skills using professional education techniques for youth players.
Coaches decide positions and playing time based on ability, performance, and team needs. No favoritism. Players
can always ask to be evaluated for any position.
We protect young arms. EHBC follows strict pitch limits and never overuses pitchers.

Balanced Schedule:
Players have time for school teams and homework, and families dont have to be completely devoted to youth
baseball. We have at least two full weekends off during the school year, along with typical holidays, to allow time
for family activities.
We anticipate team practices starting in mid-January and games/tournaments running through July.

During school, teams practice together once per week and we offer small, specialized group lessons/training
throughout the year (there are several options for this based on player position).
After the school year ends, we play in various local tournaments and hold practice twice per week. The number of
tournaments and distance is determined by each program individually and may deviate due to the availability of
tournaments for each age group.
All players are required to play Essexville Hampton Little League (EHLL) and EHBC exists as a complement to EHLL,
not to compete with EHLL (including state tournaments).
At the end of tournament season, we usually register one Minors (7-9) and one Majors (10-12) team in the
Southwest Little League (SWLL) and highly encourage players to play Fall Ball Little League together.

Sportsmanship & Community Leadership:
We take pride in our ability to support, promote and maintain a high
standard of integrity and good sportsmanship as well as foster and
promote good will and fraternal spirit among the community.
As a registered nonprofit, our program is 100% dependent on local
sponsorships and players respond positively by giving back to the
community in so many ways.
We can give qualifying community service hours for students.

Team Selection:
Our Club currently competes at the 8U 10U levels. Teams are open to 7-10 year olds according to USSSA age
guidelines (age as of May 1
st
of the tournament year).

Tryouts are held every year in group workouts to enable our coaches and board of baseball advisors to identify
players with the skills to contribute to the team. Make up dates are available upon request and as-needed.

We select the most competitive team possible. Player selection will be based on talent and ability, academic
eligibility, coach-ability, sportsmanship, available commitment and position.
Players/parents must commit to our team for the season. Players who also play for a league or other team must
agree to make our team their priority in the event of schedule conflicts - except for a school or little league teams
(these teams should come first and EHBC generally schedules around these events when we can).

Lower Costs:
EHBC is a registered nonprofit organization with all unpaid volunteers. No one makes money from our program.

Typically, we do not travel beyond driving distance from home. With the large number of top teams in Michigan,
there is rarely the need to travel overnight which means lower costs for families.
We dont require costly, unnecessary frills (customized bags, team shirts, car stickers, etc.). Parents are free to
buy those things if they choose, but it isnt required.

Participation Fees cover uniforms, equipment, insurance, tournament entry fees, umpires, etc. The amount varies
each month depending on the number of games, tournament fees, and other factors.

Corporate tax-exempt sponsorships combined with community supported fundraising will dramatically reduce, if
not eliminate, monthly billing to player families.

We offer tuition based fundraising and scholarships are available for special circumstances.

Requirements:
Resides in the EHLL baseball boundaries and committed to playing baseball for The HITMEN.
Complete the Registration Form.

Read the Parent Guidelines / Code-of-Conduct.
Provide a clear, legible, full-sized copy of players birth certificate.

Volunteers:
EHBC is structured with multiple committees to coordinate efforts in the
Clubs best interests. We welcome volunteers to help with a variety of tasks.
