Airbags is one safety feature that is a must have in cars.

Airbags inflates during collision to

stop someone from colliding with the steering wheel or dashboard or even from flying
through the windshield during any serious car accidents. (Airbag injuries and car accidents )
Airbags are connected to the cash sensor where the airbags will inflate at 8-14 MPH during a
crash. At this point, the crash sensor will trigger an igniter that produces gas in which are
usually nitrogen and argon, filling up the airbag and inflate. (Airbag injuries and car accidents
) The airbag would deflate right after to avoid any suffocation (Iliades). This safety car
features fits into newtons first law, An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion
stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an
unbalanced force (newtons first law)

According to newtons first law, when you face a car accident, the force would push you
forward and you would travel in the same speed without any airbag or a seatbelt. When
there is the airbag, the airbag would deploy and act as the unbalanced force to stop the
car passenger from remaining in motion.

Airbags can be related to seatbelts because wearing seatbelts help you keep in a better
positionwhen your airbag deploys in times when a collision occurs (daniel). Seatbelts and
airbags works best together because when an airbag has been deployed, the seatbelt have a
role in helping the passenger/driver with body support and prevent ejection (jean-jacques
abitol).

The whole reason for inventing airbags is to make sure that drivers and passengers are safe.
Airbags have saved countless drivers and passengers all around the world; it usually
prevents about 3000 deaths each year and has also saved 8369 lives between the year 1987-
2001 (glassbrenner). For sport cars, the chance of death that had been reduce because of
airbags is 50% (Daniel).





Airbags have a benefit of preventing brain and chest injuries. It had been discovered that
most people die when their car is hit on the side, which had suffered them from brain
injuries. This is why most vehicles have side airbags to prevent passengers and drivers from
falling into an accident, which can injury their brain. (glassbrenner)

Even though vehicles are equipped with airbags that can protect them from accidents there
is also disadvantages to airbags. When airbags are deployed, it releases dust in which can
irritate the skin and the eye (Airbag injuries and car accidents ). With the protection of
airbag during an accident, you can never guarantee that it can be 100% safe. An airbag being
deployed can cause asthma attack from the chemical release, burning and abrasion and also
eye injury if the airbag deploys and hit the eye. People should also keep in consideration
that child older than 12 years should not sit in the front seat because airbags can cause very
serious injuries.

From the invention of airbags, it had protected passengers from serious accidents, which
had made society safer. Drivers would also feel more safe and comfortable when they drive
far away. Some people are afraid of driving because they are scared they might face an
accident and lose their lives but now, since there are many safe car feature developments,
these fears are starting to fade away.

Airbags can have an impact on society when people start to become reckless since they
believe that they have something to protect them and keep them safe from any
unnoticeable accidents. This means that people can be more careless when they drive,
increase their driving speed and is also not aware of rules. This includes violating the law
causing serious

Airbags are able to help passengers and driver feel more safe and secure if they face any
accident but can have an impact on how the driver is driving the care and feel more
comfortable since they are sure that with the help of airbags, it can still save they life from
serious accidents.

Airbags had saved many people lives yearly all around the world and had also been
protecting many passengers and drivers from accidents. Even though if airbags have a lot of
benefits for passengers and drivers, there can also be disadvantages in which can effect the
eye and cause irritation. The developments of airbags have made passengers and drivers
feel safer in times of any unseen accidents.
