RESPONSE
The left ventricle is thick due to the fact that is uses excess force to pump blood
throughout the rest of the body (Martini, F. & Nath, J. 2009) It pumps blood to the aorta and
coronary vessels which are located on the surface of the heart. The location enables coronary
arteries to have the ability to pump blood to the myocardium as well as assist aorta and coronary
veins to be able to pump blood from the rest of the body back to the heart (Martini, F. & Nath, J.
2009). What is the structural connection between the ventricles, aorta, and coronary vessels?
The myocardium experiences a prolonged contraction which results to a heat beat. Three
phases are involved including: rapid depolarization, the plateau, and depolarization (Scanlon, V.
& Sanders, T. 2007). How is the structure of the myocardium adapted to its functions?
