2014 Nanying International
Folklore Festival

2014 Nanying International Folklore Festival is about to
be performed in Anding District!! The biennial cultural
event Nanying International Folklore Festival was
authorized the transaction to Bao-an Temple, Anding
Neighborhood, Anding Dist., at 7 p.m., on Oct 5,
2014(Sun.). We invited band Ze Shih Nong, dance group
Israel Ramat Sharon Tu Sade, Mongolia Ge Shen musical
troupe, dance group Mexico Yao Kua Li Folklore and other
international troupes to appear on the stage, which let all
the citizens undergo the experience of the exquisite shows
performed by these international troupes and experience
the communication of art and culture. Welcome your
participation and cooperation.

Cigu Lagoon
Cigu Lagoon, the largest body of water of its kind in Taiwan, is important both
economically and environmentally. The 1,455-hectare lagoon located in Cigu
District of Northern Tainan City used to be much more extensive, inundating almost
half of what is now urban Tainan City. Rich mangrove ecosystems and numerous
species of fish, shrimp, mussels, oysters, and crabs, including bivalve molluscs like
the Chinese Venus, are found in the estuary, which is filled with predominantly
brackish water. Healthy and diversified ecosystems are the most precious asset of
Cigu Lagoon; what makes the lagoon really unique however, is its combination of
fishery, evident in the preponderance of seines and oyster racks, and thriving coastal
ecosystems inhabited by diverse animal and plant species. Looking out from the
Seascape Pavilion near the lagoon, you can take in views of sandbars, lagoons, and
salt pans in the enchanting sunset.
