Abstract: T rad itional pipe lin e desig n ana ly sis m ethod presented in various literatures is usua lly based on lim it
stress criteria, how ever, the m ethod m ay be in apposite to m odern stee ls, and th e m ethod can no t so lve a ll the problem s in p ip elin e strength desig n, espec ially for d isplacem ent con tro lled lo ads such as ground displacem ent load.
S tra in lim its, in cluding ovalization lim i,t tensile stra in lim it and compressiv e stra in lim i,t are com pared in th is paper
based upon various codes and recomm endatio ns. In add ition, som e control factors of strain lim its are also review ed

Abstract: T he flow f ie ld of o il w ater tw o phases in o il w ater separat io n hydrocyclone is tested by m eans o f Reyno ld s
streess m odel and CFD num erica l sim u lation m ethod. The consequence suggests the in ter- flow disturbance o f produced liqu id on in let exerts an im portan t influence on oil w ater separation effec,t so, a new structure, spat ia l Arch-i
m edes spira l line in let flow channe l and the conduction current sp iral o il w ater separat io n hydrocyclone, is presented. The fu rther opt im al design and function test indicate sm ooth transition betw een A rch im edes spiral and cyc lo ne
in let is rea lized, and the stab le flow fie ld and higher separation efficiency are obta in ed.
