STCW Advanced Fire Fighting





PURPOSE
This course is designed to provide
advanced fire fighting training in
accordance with STCW '95 code A-
V1/3.

CONTENTS
The training consists of practical
and theoretical elements with
continuous assessment throughout.

The syllabus focuses on:
Compiling Fire Reports
Control of Fire Parties
First Aid Fire Fighting
Equipment
Fire Fighting techniques
Fixed Systems and
Detection Equipment
Legislation Regarding
Merchant Shipping and
Vessels

















OBJECTIVES
On completion of the training, the
trainees will have knowledge of
advanced fire fighting techniques
and the precautions to be taken to
minimise the risk of fires on ships.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Delegates must hold the STCW Fire
Prevention and Fire Fighting (Basic
Fire Fighting) certificate or an
acceptable alternative and have
completed 6 months seatime.
Delegates will be required to bring
photographic ID. Before starting
the course, delegates will be
requested to complete a medical
questionnaire. Any additional PPE
that may be required will be
provided.
