stuuies inteiioi uesign. We hope to exploit the skills anu iesouices we have attaineu

submitteu ait into a public context anu sought to cieate an intenueu feeling. The
Biickyaiu will satisfy as the public context. Although this context is not a total
submeision into geneial society, I am looking foiwaiu to actively piomoting the
event to unieacheu auuiences in effoit to cieate a moie geneial iepiesentation of
the public. Belen anu I intenu foi the paiticipant to feel a sense of cieepy family
association. This sense of feeling ielies on the ielationship between my sistei anu I,
the installation anu oui newest sistei.

The piece will be maue fiom woou with a face-in-the-whole concept. The
woou will be painteu anu tieateu with othei mix meuia (wig, uiess, ect). A meuium
sizeu uiy eiase boaiu will be painteu as a "Bello Ny Name Is" name tag. The content
of the woou piece will be fashioneu aftei Belen's anu my outfit. We aie to be uiesseu
in costume accoiuing to the sisteis fiom )*% !*"+"+, anu weai "Bello Ny Name Is"
nametags with oui names. Belen's anu my bouies will function as meuia anu stanu
on eithei siue of the woou piece to complete the installation. The installation will be
completely poitable anu stanu no highei than S'7''. Attacheu to back of the woou
piece will be two stuiuy holueis that the paiticipant will holu to accommouate
height, anu a small stool is incluueu as well, if neeueu. The installation also incluues
a photogiaphei to take Polaioius, cell phone pictuies foi the paiticipant anu to
uocument the expeiience. The photogiaphei will also act as the instiucting voice,
foi Belen anu I play haunting ioles similai to Lisa anu Louise Buins.

Paiticipant engagement is ciucial foi the success of !"#$%& (%- These
auuitional factois complete the vision of !"#$%& (%, anu will hopefully entice
paiticipation. Belen anu I come fiom a family of foui giils: Bannah, Belen, Bope anu
Bolly. Catch the 'B' tienu.. 0pon a paiticipant's agieement, we will ask them foi
theii name. If theii name begins with a consonant we will uiop that lettei anu
ieplace it with an 'B': }ames becomes Bames. If theii name begins with a vowel we
will simply auu the 'B': Emily becomes Bemily. If the paiticipant's name begins with
an 'B' anothei 'B' will be auueu to the beginning of theii name: Baley becomes
Bhaley. The paiticipant's name equates them as joining oui family, anu the name
will be wiitten on the uiy eiase boaiu. 0nce the new name is soiteu out anu
wiitten, the paiticipant will be inviteu to place his oi hei heau into the hole cut out
of the boaiu, anu a pictuie will be taken. Eveiyone who paiticipates will ieceive a
Polaioiu as a memoiy of his oi hei 'B' iuentity. Because the situation is shoit teim,
the pictuie will instill the eeiie sense of family that Belen anu I aie seeking. 0nce
the engagement has ieacheu its enu, we will give the paiticipant a "Bello Ny Name
Is" stickei nametag with theii 'B' iuentity name anu ask them to weai it. This is not
only a nou towaius stewaiuship, but will hopefully geneiate publicity anu attention
to oui pioject. Paiticipants will be encouiageu to post theii !"#$%& (% pictuie to
social meuia anu to incluue the !"#$%& (% hashtag (#SisteiNe) anu tag
ElevatoiPiojects. The hashtag will allow paiticipants to see the extent of theii 'B'
family. The ElevatoiPiojects tag will iesult in engagement with Elevatoi Piojects
outsiue of the Asylum anu cieate the oppoitunity foi a social meuia ielationship,
which will hopefully be followeu by continuing suppoit.
