Lesson Plan in TLE IV
I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
A. Explain what a computer is.
B. Identify the different parts of the computer and its functions.
C. Examine the importance of computers in todays world.
D. Perform the basic commands of a computer.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:
A. Title: Basic Concepts in Computer Operations
B. Reference: Technology and Livelihood Education IV pgs. 403-413 by Ana
G. Ofiasa et al
III. MATERIALS:
Desktop Computer, projector (for visual aid), non-functioning RAM chips,
keyboard, mouse, other PC parts available a box containing the names of the
PC parts presented and prizes for the game.
IV. LESSON PROPER/PROCEDURES:
A. Daily Routine
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
B. Motivation
The class will play a matching game. On a long table in front of the
class are the parts of a PC and on a box are the pools of pre-made names
of those parts. He will then call a student at random to identify a computer
part by selecting the correct name of that part from the pool of names in the
box. The student will then describe the part and its function and significance.
If the student answered correctly, a corresponding prize would be given.

Questions for Discussion:
1. What is a computer?
2. What are the different parts of the computer?

Appreciate the importance of computers in todays world.
Show some of the important uses of computers in different
fields.
F. Application
1. Call a student to demonstrate how to name a file in the computer.
2. Call a student to demonstrate how to copy a file
3. Call a student to demonstrate how to retrieve and open a deleted
file.
V. Evaluation

Identification
1. What is also known as the brains of the computer?
2. What is a set of instructions that directs a computer to perform
some processing function or a combination of functions?
3. It refers to the main operating system of the computer.
4. A malicious program spreads unwarranted inside a computer
damaging or affecting the performance of the computer.
5. These are components like keyboard, mouse, printer, scanner and
monitor.

VI. Assignment/Agreement

Give some other significant uses of computers on the fields of medicine,
business, education, government and science other than those discussed
in the lesson.
