We as humans get better at doing something by practicing, by getting repetition. If we
want to have a better basketball shot then we get in the gym and we shoot a thousand
shots a day. That is our philosophy, which is what we believe in, we believe that repletion
will help us, and everyone needs something to believe in and something that we can use
everyday.
The Philosophy Progressivism is the philosophy that best describes my
personality. I think that progressivism best described me because that I what helped me
learn. Progressivism says that students learn better in subjects where they do projects
such as the science fair. You can do projects in every class and that helps everyone learn
because you are doing hands on activities. Students have also shown that when they have
to make questions about what they are doing they learn it better. I can see how this is me
because when I was in history we would always play games about what we had learned
on the day and that worked for me to play games and make it fun instead of just sitting
down and doing worksheets.
According to my Philosophical belief all schools should teach students how to
make it in the real world, not just the world inside of school. The progressive philosophy
states that we should be teaching them decision based skills because from a young age
they dont have to make decisions they need to learn that skill. We should be teaching
them problem-solving skills, because once they get out into the real world they are going
to have problems in life where they are going to have to figure it out, and we should be
there to teach them how to handle situations and work them out.
The teachers role is to emphasize applications in problem-based learning,
cooperative learning, and guided discovery according to the progressivism philosophy.

The students role is to be collaborative, have emphasis on learner responsibility. The
Classroom is to be democratic.
I learn best by doing hands on work such as projects and working in groups rather
than as an individual. I have discovered certain concepts about my learning style they are
as follows, Progressivism. Subject material should be taught using the Progressivism
approach. This should be partially decided by the student, due to their interests and
partially by the teacher, this means that you cannot always use this philosophy you have
to know how your class is. If your class cant work in groups then you arent going to put
them in groups. You have to play to your strengths. This is stated in the Progressivism
Philosophy.
It is very important to have a philosophy as a teacher because if you dont then
you have no base to start from. Your philosophy is your base and it will help you guide
your teaching skills. This is how the Progressivism Philosophy will help me be a better
teacher and how it can help me everyday of my life.
