Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world. Education not only gives power in the
present moment but also prepares for a better future. The Samarthanam Trust for the disabled
recognizes the importance education plays in shaping the personality of an individual to stand tall in the
society. Committed to building a disabled friendly inclusive residential school they empower the
visually impaired, disabled and underprivileged people through developmental initiatives by focusing on
educational, social, economic and technological aspects.
The Samarthanam Trust endeavors to bridge the yawning gap in the society by increasing the
educational and employment accessibility of the people with disabilities by using technologies and
comprehensive vocational training . They happily provide the best of infrastructure, technology and
recreational activities to their students. Art and culture, sports and games are all promoted as they
believe in not just making the disadvantaged children literate but also give consideration to physical
fitness and their hobbies.
Passionate to make a difference in the society and lives of many the volunteers at Samarthana Trust
have kindled the fire of education in about 600 students free of cost, as knowledge cannot be bought or
sold. Education is not an object but a flame that can sustain many lives. They not only promote
education and employment but they also contribute to reduce malnutrition related disability by
providing with nutrition supplements.
Tomorrow belongs to people who prepare for it today. Eco-friendly environment and waste
management programmes (Parisara) initiated by Samarthana trust in 2003 not only provides the
disabled with a cleaner and greener environment to survive in but serves 88 companies, 3 schools, 10
apartments and 100 residence and creates waste- free environment and environmentally friendly cost
effective, innovative and sustainable technologies to provide end-to-end waste management solutions
for corporate organizations, to reduce environmental footprints.
After literacy malnutrition is the rampant issue among marginalized youth in the rural areas.
Malnutrition creates liabilities for a nation but the Samarthana Trust serves 250000 mid-day meals each
month to children in 54 government schools in Karnataka turning liabilities into productive workforce of
the nation.
Samarthana Trust has awakened many children towards a better future and letzchange in collaboration
works with the volunteers of Samarthana Trust to awaken the entire nation in educating the
disadvantaged forgotten section of the society. In a Simple Social Giving way letzchange brings
assistance to the children at the Trust and brightens up their lives.
