DISCOVERY LEARNING

Directions: So here is the scoop: when you go to college
and then the workforce, many employers will expect you to
learn how to do your job by simply doing your job. There is
not a lot of training before you start to work. Many
business motto is: Learn by doing. So, that is what you
are about to do!

Objective: Reading an article and analyzing 2-3
pictures/cartoons to figure out the meaning of your Clue
Word in order to understand certain vocabulary for our
new unit: Teens and the Economy.

How: Answer each question below as a whole group.
Then, when you are done, create a poster on butcher
paper to explain to the whole class your Clue Word. Your
poster must include:
1. A definition of your clue word
2. a real world example of your clue word
3. a trick for us to remember the clue word (e.g.,
FANBOYS for coordinate conjunctions)
4. a picture/symbol that represents your clue word
