Course Description
This online course takes place in hybrid form. Most lessons will take place
asynchronously. Biweekly synchronous meetings will be held via Adobe Connect in
order to clarify doubts and provide opportunities for further English speaking practice.

Course Prerequisites and/or Co-requisites
- Belong to the staff at Global Enterprises Sao Paulo, BR
- Have an intermediate or higher level of English, determined by the Online
Placement Test (OPT) administered and proctored on the premises of Global
Enterprises, Sao Paulo, BR

Netiquette and Professionalism
It is expected that you will participate in the activities proposed throughout the course in
a professional manner, following the given instructions and showing respect for the
instructor and other students in the class.

It is also important to follow netiquette (network etiquette) rules when submitting
comments online. The website below gives a description of the ten core rules of

Materials / Software

Available on website http://distancelearningsolutions.weebly.com

For speaking evaluations, we will be using VoiceThread. All students need to create an
account at voicethread.com. A detailed video and instructions on how to do so can be
found at our course website, under the VoiceThread tab.




Course Objectives
This course aims to provide further Business English language practice to staff
members of Global Enterprises in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Assessment
Links to skills evaluations are available at the end of each lesson. For speaking and
writing evaluations, results will be emailed to each student directly. For grammar and
vocabulary evaluations, feedback is instantaneous (automatic scoring), and students
are expected to get a minimum score of 75% to demonstrate their progress in these
skills.
