SUBDIVISIONS RESPONSIBILITES

Binder

Each subdivision head needs to have a binder. For Music and Technical Theatre, they need a binder for
each sector off of their subdivision.

The binder MUST have the following sections:
Basic information papers: Division Chart, Job description, Meeting requirements
Notes: Paper for taking notes during the meeting
Spreadsheets: The secretary will often give you sheets to fill out: This may include checkup
sheets, sheet to turn in next meeting about progress, etc.
Goals: This is a section dedicated to accomplishing the goals you committed to during any
double/single division meeting. (ex. Costumes could put pictures of all the ensemble options to
help stay organized)
Research: If the subdivision sees a competition that applies to their area (ex. Music Vocal finds a
capella competition online), they can print out the research and put it here for future
references.

Bulletin Board

Each subdivision has a section of the bulletin board in School House One. Include major, yet specific
goals that might interest the student body to e-mail you and what to participate in your subdivision.
Dont focus on outside of school research, but give a general summary of what you guys are doing.

Renew the board after every double division meeting.

BASIC SUBDIVISION DESCRIPTIONS

Secretary: Conducts Double Division Meetings, is in constant communication with the adults about the
quality of subheads executing their projects, makes ASM announcements

ACTING
Sets up concessions/boosters
Recruit new girls for the play, musical and one acts
talks to Cappies about eligibility
Talks to the directors of the shows to see how to production are going, etc.

MUSIC (vocal) (MUST BE IN SWEET TI OR GLEE)
glee/sweet Ti announcements
Informing Glee/Sweet Ti about possible competition opportunities
Talking to the other heads about preparations for pops concert/soirees/vaudeville

MUSIC (instrumental) (MUST BE IN INDEPENDENT LESSON CREDIT OR ORCHESTRA)
orchestra announcements
Informing orchestra/private lessons about possible competition opportunities
Talking to the other heads about preparations for soirees/vaudeville/ orchestra ASM

Dance (MUST TAKE IN SCHOOL OR INDEPENDENT DANCE CREDIT)
Informing about possible competition opportunities
Talking to the other heads about preparations for dance ASM
Getting the dance community more involved in common performance venues
Finding possible student choreographers interested in the musical

Technical Theatre (MUST TAKE TECHNICAL THEATRE CLASS)
This is more based on the organization of the technical theatre class, but I think it would be nice to
have a good representative at the meetings and someone who is dedicated to having good
organization habits to make the flow of work more efficient
Represents technical theatre in the meetings
recruiting new members
organization of props and costumes and gels in C/A
working with Lead Cappies critic on Cappies eligibility

Cappies (AUTOMATICALLY GOES TO LEAD CRITIC)
responsible for all lead critic obligations
including the Cappies room + being tour guide for Cappies seeing Madeira Shows
attempting to get other heads to participate and make Madeira eligible for as many
nominations as possible

Photography (MUST TAKE PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE)
make announcements to all photo class (whether through flyers or in person)
helps with hanging and recruits others to help with the arts gallery hanging of photo students
work

Studio Arts (MUST TAKE SOME ARTS COURSE INVOLVING PAINTING, SKECTCHING, ETC)
Makes announcements to art classes
Communicates with community for opportunities for artists to showcase works
Helps with hanging of artists works

Ceramics (MUST BE TAKING CERAMICS AT SCHOOL OR INDEPENDENTLY)
Makes announcements to ceramics classes
Communicates with community for opportunities for sculptors to showcase works
Helps with setting-up of displaying sculptors works, etc.

Publications (MUST BEING TAKING OR SHOW STRONG INTEREST IN GRAPHIC DESIGNS)
work on poster publications of arts events
get others to participate in making of publications
works on layouts for publications
