ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NUMBERED 09 Series of 2014
ORGANIZING THE BARANGAY NUTRITION COUNCIL AND DEFINING ITS FUNCTIONS.
WHEREAS, Sec. 9. Article II of the 1987 Philippine Constitution calls for the improvement of the national status of the Filipino population for this is still one of the primary concerns of the government;
WHEREAS, the organization of the Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC) is urgent due to the prevailing problem of malnutrition in the Philippines;
NOW THEREFORE, I, VAN OLIVER M. DICANG, Punong Barangay of Lower Quirino Hill, Baguio City, by the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare that this Administrative Order shall read as follows:
SECTION 1. There is hereby created a Barangay Nutrition Council, which shall be composed of the following:
a) Chairperson: VAN OLIVER M. DICANG, Punong Barangay b) Vice Chairperson: KAG. LEONORA B. AVECILLA, Committee on Health, Sanitation and Nutrition c) Secretariat: BRIDGET P. GUILOD, BNAO NANCY KISPAY, BHW LILIBETH L. BALANGUE, BNS
d) Members: NATY N. PUMIHIC, Barangay Kagawad ANSELMA T. MAYAO, Barangay Kagawad ARMANDO S. QUEVEDO, Barangay Kagawad PETER O. WASING, Barangay Kagawad ROSA M. CRISTAL, Barangay Kagawad EDUARDO HERNANDO, Barangay Tanod EDUARDO PIRA, Barangay Tanod MANOLO PINEDA, Barangay Tanod VICENTE GARBO, Barangay Tanod MARIVIC L. ORARA, Barangay Tanod DOMINGA K. SECTION 2. BNC Functions & Obligations The functions and obligations of the BNC shall be as follows:
a) To formulate a Barangay Nutrition Action Program; b) To coordinate all nutrition activities in the Barangay; c) To organize the Barangay Network, and to conduct Operation Timbang (OPT) under the supervision of the field unit of the Baguio Health Department;
Page 2 of 2 Administrative Order Numbered 09, Series of 2014 d) To prepare a Spot Map of the Barangay; e) To organize specific groups to implement nutrition activities and asses their progress; and f) Hold regular quarterlymeetings to monitor program performance.
SECTION 3. All executive issuances and order inconsistent herewith are hereby deemed amended and modified accordingly.
SECTION 4. This order shall take effect immediately upon approval.
