anxieties about going to the dentist. Of this percentage, 5 to 6 percent are

cause many physical and emotion symptoms, but can be treated through
learning coping and relaxation techniques.
Dentophobia causes our bodies to react in many ways. For example,
many people may have a pounding heart, sweaty palms, dizziness or panic
attacks. Because of these symptoms, many people will avoid going to the
dentist at all. Many people develop dentophobia after a bad experience at
the dentist early on in their lives. Some may also be scared of the doctor
wearing a mask and wielding sharp tools. Dentophobia may have many
causes however most people experience similar physical and emotional
symptoms.
People living with dentophobia have many options to overcome
their phobia. For instance, people may try to learn some relaxation techniques like playing mind games or imagining yourself on a beach. People
who experience dentophobia may also have a better experience if they listen to music while they visit the dentist. Lastly, in severe cases, a dentist
might use nitrous oxide or sedation in order to perform the needed procedure. Many options exist to help people overcome their fear of the dentist.
Feeling afraid of the dentist is a common feeling across the United
States. In fact, it is rumored that even Abraham Lincoln had a fear of dentists after a bad situation with having a tooth pulled. Although dentist visits
are necessary to maintain your oral hygiene, people who have dentophobia
have many options to overcome their fear. Dentophobia can cause many
physical and emotional symptoms that can be overcome by learning how to
