This is the promenade, a very recent

area of regeneration.
The sandblasted theme runs across
the whole promenade. This is
modern and aesthetically pleasing
but unfortunately it can get quite
dirty with marks and seagull poo.
There is some maintenance taking
place on the lights which is
imperative. It is essential for the
extension of the season and to
attract more visitors.
Above are the recently regenerated
tram tracks. The trams are an
important part of Blackpools history
and people come from all around
the country to see them.
To the left is the festival headland
which has recently been
constructed. This has really had a
positive effect on Blackpool. It
means that huge international
artists visit such as, Little Mix,
George Ezra and Peter Kay.
Here is the Kimberly hotel at Starr
Gate, East of the Pleasure Beach.

At this end of Blackpool there are a
lot of derelict hotels.
The illuminations run the length of
the promenade however the more
interesting items tend to be located
West of Starr Gate on the way to
Bispham.
There is some green space which is
largely used by residents. A negative
effect of the regeneration scheme is
that there is not a large amount of
greenery or vegetation and the
Eastern side of the promenade has
been in effect left for dead.
In by-gone days the Kimberly
wouldve been busy with tourists. At
stage 7 of the Butlers model Starr
Gate seems to have been in decline
while the town centre has
regenerated. It is a large hotel and
wouldve accommodated a lot of
people.
