SynopsisTheBox:SongsthatCelebrateImaginationbyMarkBurrows
Thiscollectionisamusicalcelebrationoftheboundlessimaginationfoundineverychild,
imaginationthatcanturnapieceofbrowncardboardintoaworldofpossibilities.Each
ofthesongs,setinavarietyofmusicalstyles,maybesungindividuallyortogetherusing
theprovidedrhymingdialogueforaschoolprogram.Alsoincludedarereproducible
vocalpartswithlyricsandaperformance/accompanimentCD.Thiscollectionisflexible
andrequiresverylittlesets,propsandcostumes.Allyouneedisabox.Songsinclude:

Concepts
Throughoutthemusicalprocesswewillbeexploringmanydifferentgenresandstylesofmusic.
ThestyleswewillbeexploringincludeWestAfrican,UptempoRock,Swing,Funk,Jig,
Polka,HipHop,50sRockandRoll.Guidingchildreninthestudyofeachcultureanddifferent
styleofmusicwillallowthemtogrowintheirknowledgeofmusicandconnecttheinformation
toabroaderworldview.
Studentswillalsolearnaboutdifferentformsofsimpleandcompoundmeter,differences
betweensharpandflatkeysignatures,andvaryingrhythmsthrougheachstyleandsong.
