The more correct answers that are completed, the better. Right/Wrong Answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions? : Yes No Mixed (Some will have correct answers, others will not.) Immediate Corrective Feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some or all of the questions and display the correct response to the class after the SRS activity? Yes No Why or why not? Yes, because that way students will be able to see where exactly they went wrong and use that as an example for the upcoming questions. All incorrect answers will be reviewed by the teacher to the class as a whole for a better understanding of the concept. Use of Data: What data will be collected as a result of this activity. How will it be used and by whom? (For example: Will information collected from this activity be used to award a grade? Will the individual information collected be shared with students and/or parents to help them monitor individual progress? Will you discuss the aggregate, anonymous data with the whole class to help them learn? Will you use data to differentiate instruction for students? If so, describe how. ) As a result of this activity, the majority of right and wrong answers will be collected along with the student's scores. This information will be gathered by the teacher in order to see if students are on track with where they need to be in their learning and/ or making progress with unsuccessful attempts at questions. The information that will be collected from this activity will indeed be used to award grades. However, individual information of students will NOT be shared with other students. One the other hand, student's information will be shared with their parents so they can keep up with their child's progress. The data collected will be used to differentiate instruction because teachers will be able to realize what students need more help than others. Describe what will occur after the SRS activity: After the activity, the teacher will ask the students if they have any questions. For the questions that students missed the most, the teacher will work out those problems so students can understand why they missed them. From there, students will pair off into groups and create a hands-on activity to help better grasp the concept of basic addition (e.g. flashcards, poster boards, KWL charts, etc.) Once complete, students will be assigned homework to review the concepts they learned in class. Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. (For example: What are you trying that you have not tried before? What do you hope to learn from this activity? How do you hope it will help students learn? You must design something that will help you learn something new! Honor System!) More than anything I want students to be able to retain the information being presented to them. Normally, students would learn the information and once its completed and they move on, students tend to forget what was just taught to them. I hope that this activity will be a fun and learning experience that students can hold onto for years and years on.
Other comments about your SRS Activity (optional): I feel that Quizlet is an awesome website for students to master whatever subject they are being taught. In addition, it's an excellent tool to help them study and retain the information outside of being in the class.
