Procedures:
Steps teacher will follow, in order
1) Lead in: (Build and Activate Prior Knowledge)
- Have them recall what they remember about the story
- Have them recall times they have been involved in conflict
2) Step by Step
- Sit in circle
- Discuss the main conflict in the story as a group (teacher facilitates)
- Discuss how the grouchy ladybug acts toward others in the story
- Discuss who else is involved
- Discuss how the conflict started and how it was resolved
- Have each student explain how they would handle the situation if they were involved

The students will hopefully be able to understand that conflict was the main
theme of this story and understand what the term means and how it can apply

The lesson allows them to imitate emotions (smiling and frowning), and each
student will get multiple opportunities to share their opinions, answers, and
stories.
