RE: Southwest Region RN Residency Program

Dear Ms. Hansen and Dixie Region Medical Center Team,

I am currently a nursing student at Dixie State University and I am writing with a thankful heart
for the opportunity of being considered for a position in the residency program at Dixie Regional
Medical Center. I will be graduating in December 2014 with an Associates Degree in Nursing
and would love to start my career at DRMC. I am drawn to DRMC for many reasons, but there
are three which stand out the most. First, I truly appreciate DRMCs Mission and Vision of
helping people live the healthiest lives possible, and of being a model health system by providing
extraordinary care. Second, I have been a patient of DRMC and am very grateful for the
professionals and staff as they seem to take the mission and vision to heart and have provided me
the most excellent of care. Third, my mother worked for DRMC up until her retirement and I
have two sisters currently employed with DRMC. It is easy to see the love they have for
Intermountain Healthcare and DRMC.

While I have not yet had the opportunity to work in the medical field, my resume clearly shows
the qualities I have developed, throughout my work experience, which will be beneficial to the
patients and staff at DRMC. Also, as a student at DSU I have been given the opportunity to
participate in clinical hours throughout several areas of the medical field, including: labor and
delivery, postpartum care, behavioral medicine, IV therapy, PACU, pre-op, OR, long-term care,
and critical care through the Emergency Department, ICU, and NICU, with a majority of my
time being spent on the medical-surgical floors. I am currently completing my preceptorship with
Lori Egbert, RN, on West 3 and am learning all about patient care, as well as the policies and
procedures of Intermountain. Everything I am learning and experiencing confirms to me that I
truly want to be a part of the amazing medical team at DRMC.

I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss how my attitude, dedication to my education, and
life experiences will be beneficial to DRMC. Thank you again for your time and consideration. I
