Topic Overview
Describe the topic youd like to pursue in terms of the kind(s) of landscapes you plan to
explore,
themes or key concepts, etc.
For this project we are going to be talking about and presenting our project based on Music.
Our main question that we are going to be focusing on, How does music affect your brain?
We are not mapping or focusing on the brain, but we are just using it as a reference. We are
going to be using different kinds of music and how it affects us. We are going to be using 3
different components of our body including Visual outlook, physical movements, and how
the the types of music affects the mind. * For this we are using our own perception on these
things*
For multimedia we are going have the code set to a keyboard or piano and each key we press
will draw an image along with music playing with the keys. We will have an outline or
silhouette of a person and have moving wavelengths in the background. During this time we
are going to zooming in and out of the different sections that we have studied ( visual,
physical, and the mind). We will start of with the visual part and once we zoom within the
eyes, it will be showing types of key notes floating and every time we press a key the note
gets larger or smaller (still debating on this). Then we zoom out from the eyes and the
outline of the body will be showing, then the body will start moving to the beats we created
and will start moving with the Rhythm. After that it we will go in thru the ear, into the brain,
but instead of the brain its a background of outerspace. ( because Im relating to me and
when I listen to music, it feels like i'm not even on earth anymore). During this time there
will be differents types of music playing and the image is going to be changing constantly
depending on the music. By this time it will be close to the ending.
Essential Questions
What are the essential questions that will guide your research and product output?
These questions should be focused, scholarly, and answerable through research.
Some key questions that we will be researching will be about music and its effect on
humans.
When listening to music, what part of your brain gets triggered?
How much of our brain do we use for music; ie, memory of lyrics, harmony etc.?
What part of you brains helps distinguish the type of music you like?
How does music change your mood?

How does a music video change your feeling towards a song versus listening to it with no
visual?
How does your body react to different sounds?
How does the tempo of a song make your mind, body, and sight react?
What role does vibration play in your liking to music?
Academic Research
What seems to be the most interesting aspect of your topic to pursue? Is there a dilemma,
disagreement, controversy or problem at the heart of your topic?
Describe what you have learned from your initial research and what angle or perspective
you will pursue through further research.
Music is not only able to affect your mood. Listening to particularly happy or sad music can
even change the way we perceive the world, according to researchers from the University of
Groningen. Music and mood are closely interrelated -- listening to a sad or happy song on
the radio can make you feel more sad or happy. However, such mood changes not only
affect how you feel, they also change your perception. For example, people will recognize
happy faces if they are feeling happy themselves.
Emotional seeing speaks about our recognition of the eyes as both a way to express how we
feel and a way to connect to other people. The eyes are so often called the windows of the
soul; Better Vision is a way to heal, clarify and open these windows, allowing us to be open
to a deeper connection to others and to give and receive more easily and fully. According to
a holistic model, Better Vision means seeing the world in the clearest, most relaxed, easiest
and most efficient way possible. Better Vision also means having a positive image of
yourself, a clear sense of purpose and emotional clarity.

How different types of music affect your mind?
These are some examples of some studies that people have conducted. We will
experiment with some of these genres of music as well.

Music has been very therapeutic for people in many ways. It has helped relieve pain without
the use of painkillers or to calm the mind from stress or anxiety. Through out the years we
have learned that the music triggers many areas of the brain which involve emotion and
memory.

Product Output
What kind of computer program will you write that communicates your research ideas?
To describe the product, write out what your computer program will do in plain terms;
explain how it will work and how it will relate to your topic and essential questions.
The program we will be using is processor and a keyboard, where when we press a key it
triggers a code to draw something or play a certain key. In the essential questions we ask
how does music affect us? We will show in the aura of the visual aspect that when listening
to different notes ,keys, melodies, beats, and rhythms that the mind triggers a simulations of
pleasure, anguish, and everything in between.

For example once we press a low key it will trigger a dark atmosphere in the setting/
background. And when we press a high pitched key it will become a luminescent ambience.

We will be using garageband to make beats
