Squid
The squid is a marine cephalopod similar to the octopus. Squid, like cuttlefish,
have eight arms and two tentacles arranged in pairs. Some species of squid are
known to have 10 arms!
There are around 300 different species of squid found in the oceans of
antarctica.
Penguins
Their are many different species of penguins that live in the
antarctic. These penguins are the Adlie penguin, Chinstrap
penguin, Emperor penguin, Gentoo penguin, King penguin,
Macaroni penguin and the Rockhopper penguin.

Crab eater seal
Crab eater seals spend their entire lives in the pack ice surrounding Antarctica.
They rest, breed and moult on the pack ice. They feed in the surrounding water.
They generally move southwards in spring, and northwards in autumn, as the
pack ice gets bigger or smaller with the seasons.
Blue whale
Blue whales are the largest animals ever known to have lived on Earth.
These magnificent marine mammals rule the oceans at up to 100 feet (30
meters) long and upwards of 200 tons.
Elephant seal
Elephant seals get their name from the adult males, which have
a nose that looks rather like a short elephant trunk. Southern
elephant seals are found all around Antarctica and breed on
subantarctic islands including South Georgia, Peninsula Valdez,
Heard Island, and Macquarie Island.

Orcas, or killer whales, are the largest of the
dolphins and one of the world's most powerful
predators. They feast on marine mammals such
as seals, sea lions, fish, squid, seabirds and even
whales.
