Biodiversity and Cultural Diversity

France receives most of its cultural diversity through immigrants and foreigners. Many of
these foreigners come from Portugal, Spain, and Algeria. It is even said that France has always
been diversified. It has so many cultures. It was originally thought that France thought more in
an us versus them idea. But towards the 1980s, they really began to accept the other cultures
into their own, and fully thought of themselves as a culturally diverse country. They may have
always had these cultures, but it became part of who they were and part of France. A good way
to explain it was they now all fell under the French umbrella. It seemed that the French people
were more welcome to the idea of being culturally diverse. It is said that this happened because
the Socialist Party was gaining power in France, and one of their biggest goals was to gain more
cultural diversity. They wanted everyone to be open to others cultures and turn that "us versus
them" idea into a "we" idea. One of these examples would be of the Paris Jazz and Blues Festival
also known as the Banlieues Bleuse. This shows how the African and American Cultures came to
the French Culture and merged.
France has a ton of biodiversity. As compared to other European Union countries, France
has more than just rolling hills. It has over 200 different habitats in its area, which is partly
because it is the biggest country in the European Union. It also has the most amount of reptiles. It
is also the country with the most diversity of mammals. This is mainly because France is in a
prime location for there to be so much diversity with biology. It is located near the
Mediterranean, Amazon, and the Indian Ocean. Which allows there to be many climates and
more diversity. It also is has many climate types which include the alpine, Mediterranean,
Atlantic, and continental.

I believe that these two are combined mostly by the area that France makes. I notice that
France has a huge amount of biodiversity because of how many biomes it covers. France also has
a huge amount of cultural diversity because it has all these borders with countries and
opportunities for people of different cultures and countries to come into France. I think that the
main focus of what combines biodiversity and cultural diversity is the area and biomes that are
inside the country. Culture has also played a role in biodiversity because there have become
issues with deforestation. This was an issue in the past that they are addressing now, because
they are working with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature to keep
biodiversity alive in France and to also protect the oceans.
