INVESTMENT ANALYSIS PROJECT

PURPOSE
The purpose of this assignment is to involve student in investment activity and enable them to
experience hands on decision made in investment.

TASK
Your group comprising of 3 to 6 members are required to invest in the stock market for a period
of 8 weeks. The investment period will begin on 27 October 2014 and ends on 28 November
2014. The amount of funds available at the starts of investment is RM2,000,000.

1. This is a group assignment.
2. If the report had been plagiarized, the lecturer reserves the right to assign zero marks.
3. No late submission will be entertained.

Rules of the game


1. Create your first portfolio by buying stocks from at least 30 different companies on 27 October
2014.
2. The price for any buying or selling of the stock shall be the closing price of the previous trading
day.
3. The minimum number of stocks in a portfolio at any point of time must be at least from 30
different companies.
4. Sell all the stocks in your last portfolio on 28 November 2014.
5. There must be a minimum of 8 transactions done within the investment period (including the
transaction on 27 October to 28 November).
6. The transaction cost is 0.5% of the value or the worth of the stocks.
7. No margin trading is allowed.

Required
Write a report (Font: Arial, 11, Double Spacing), between 2,000 to 3,500 words based on the
investment project and to be submitted latest by 3 December 2014 in hard and soft copies,
latifah@unitar.my.
The marks allotted for the report is 90 marks and below is the detail
