Ask students if they know any information about our state of
Pennsylvania (showing picture of our state outline using
PowerPoint), by engaging in an oral discussion.
Hook/Lead-In/Anticipatory Set
Inform students that our state of Pennsylvania is blank and we
need to work together to find information about PA.
Review group rules with students via PowerPoint slide.
Transition
Students will be provided with packets containing all necessary
information, including names of the students they are working
with.
Students will be assigned a desk to begin working at.

while they are working independently.

puzzle piece. A student with a hearing impairment will be provided
with pictures of the answers he completes to share with peers.
At the end of the lesson, have students complete test: 5 symbols
they learned today. An ELL student will be provided with the test
in the Spanish language.
