The Innovation Economy is essential to job creation and the broader economic
stability of Massachusetts. Our next governor and the legislature must focus on
policies that will continue to promote the broadly defined economy of
tomorrow if we want to continue to compete with other innovation hubs
nationally and globally.
We the undersigned members of the Innovate MA Alliance ask that the
Governor-elect appoint thought leaders who are representative of the diversity
of our innovation economy in terms of geography, industry, and scale to his/her
transition team. Further, we ask that a standalone working group be established
within the transition team dedicated to creating a coordinated and
comprehensive plan to grow the innovation economy across the state.
To help facilitate this plan, in the coming months members of the Innovate MA
Alliance will be launching a civic advocacy tour in hubs of innovation from
Boston to the Berkshires, crowdsourcing the Innovation Agenda for
Massachusetts.
We look forward to working with the Governor-elect to ensure the
Commonwealth remains a magnet for emerging industries.
