To whom it may concern:

Please accept this letter in reference of Santiago Montoya, an individual whom I have known for the past three years. It is in
my capacity as the owner and President of Soccer Fitness Inc. which I first met Santiago, who was completing his diploma in
Fitness and Health Promotion at Humber College, at the programs Career Fair in the fall of 2011. As part of his studies,
Santiago was required to complete a four-month internship placement, and after meeting and interviewing him, we agreed to
have him do his placement with my company in the spring of 2012.
Santiagos role in his placement was as an Assistant Trainer at my facility, the Soccer Fitness Training Centre. In this role, he
was required to assist our Training staff in the delivery of soccer-specific strength and conditioning training sessions, which
include plyometric training, high speed/high incline treadmill running, and strength training. We work with small groups (5-10
athletes per hour) of youth soccer players, ranging in age from 8 or 9 years old, to 18-20 years old. Another key responsibility
for Assistant Trainers at the Soccer Fitness Training Centre is to assist with our soccer-specific fitness assessments, which take
place one day per week and include anthropometry, Functional Movement Screening, as well as specific tests of jumping
power, running speed, and aerobic endurance. Trainers Assistants help with all aspects of the assessment process, including
set-up/take-down of the testing equipment, administration of the tests, and recording/interpretation of the data.
I was very impressed with Santiago during his internship placement. He is a very knowledgeable and hard working person, and
he has an excellent ability to relate to, and communicate effectively with, young athletes and soccer players. His commitment
to and passion for his own personal fitness set an excellent example to the young athletes he worked with at my facility. He
was punctual, very professional, and was also able to be disciplined with athletes if and when it was needed. I was so pleased
with Santiagos performance during his initial internship placement that, when I found out that he had been accepted into the
University of Guelph-Humbers Kinesiology program and required a second off-campus internship placement for that program
in the winter of 2014, I once again offered him a placement with my company.
In this particular internship placement, Santiago worked exclusively as part of a team of Trainers at our on-field training
programs, which comprise soccer-specific strength and conditioning training sessions, with larger groups of athletes (20-30
players in total) delivered on indoor turf soccer fields. Once again, Santiago did a fantastic job in helping our Trainers deliver
on-field training sessions. He was able to work well with the larger groups and also had a very good ability to demonstrate
exercises on the field.
I believe Santiago will be an excellent addition to your organization. His work ethic, positive personality and substantial
knowledge in the field of sports and exercise science will make him a very effective member of your team. Should you have any
further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me using the information provided below.
