VERBO TO BE
(AFIRMATIVO, NEGATIVO E INTERROGATIVO)
Como observamos en la actividad anterior, el verbo to be, se
traduce como ser, estar segn lo requiera el contexto.
Ahora veremos cmo realizar oraciones en afirmativo, en
negativo y por ltimo en forma de pregunta.

Como se observ en el cuadro anterior, lo que cambia es la

ubicacin del verbo to be..

ACTIVIDAD:
Realiza las oracin en el modo que se te piden, completa el
cuadro en sus tres formas,:
Afirmativo, Negativo e Interrogativo.

Afirmativas
I am in the school
You are a student
He is a Doctor

They are in New York

Negativas
I am not in the school
He is not a doctor
She is not a teacher
It is not a pen

Interrogativas
Am I in the school?
am I in the school?

Is it a pen?
Are they in New York?
Are we students?

ACTIVIDAD:
Realiza 15 oraciones utilizando el verbo to be.
Puedes emplear el diccionario y buscar ampliar tu
vocabulario, aprendamos ms!, no olvides usar todas las
formas posibles (afirmativo, negativo e interrogativo).

TEMA:
VERBO TO BE (CONTRACCIONES)

Es hora de empezar a usar contracciones.

Una contraccin es la forma acortada de una palabra o una
combinacin de palabras, a menudo usada cuando no
queremos usar la forma completa. En estas formas cortas, las
letras que faltan son substituidas por un apstrofe (').

Ejemplos:

You are a nice person!

Youre a nice person!

ACTIVIDAD:
Colocar el verbo to be CONTRADO en las siguientes oraciones.

a)

I ___ an English student.

b)

You ___ a good person.

c)

We ___ singers.

d)

He ___ a teacher.

e)

They ___ angry.

OTRAS FORMAS DE HACER CONTRACCIONES

En el tema anterior, se observ que se pueden hacer

contracciones con los pronombres y el verbo to be para las
formas Afirmativas y Negativas. Nunca en interrogativas!
Ahora veremos, como se puede expresar una misma frase
pero con diferentes contracciones.
Por ejemplo:
You are not a boy
Youre not a boy
You arent a boy

sto se puede llevar a cabo en todos los verbos to be, EXEPTO

el verbo to be AM; es decir, AM y NOT no pueden contraerse.

ACTIVIDAD:
Realiza 10 oraciones Negativas usando contracciones.
