AgendaandProceedingsNotes:
Thefirstitemontheboardsagendawastoaddressnewhirees.Therewereseveral
newadditionstotheteachingandotherstaffinthedistrict.Thedistricthiredinthe
followingpositions:acontractortoresurfacethehighschooltrack,anarchitectand
constructionmanagersfortheresurfacingproject.Additionally,thefollowingteaching
positionswerefilled:anewhighschoolmathteacherahighschoolsocialstudies
teacherandanelementaryschoolmusicteacher.
Relatedtothis,theboardalsoannouncedthepostingoftwonewteachingpositions:a
kindergartenteacherandanotherunspecifiedpositionedthatwillbedetermined
basedontheneedsthroughoutthedistrict.
Saranacisalsoembarkingonaresurfacingoftheirtracktobenefittheirmostpopular
highschoolsport:trackandcrosscountry.Becauseofthis,alotoftimeduringthe
meetingwasdevotedtodiscussingthisproject.
Thearchitects,constructionmanagers,andcontractorswerehired(the
companieschosendonatedalargeamounttothedistrictaswell).
Anadditional$10,000wassetasidebytheBoardasafundformaterials
associatedwiththetrackresurfacingproject.
TheBoardalsoallottedforupto$25,000toserveasacontingencyfundfor
trackresurfacingpurposes.
Mr.Geiger,thesuperintendent,gaveapresentationtotheBoardondistrictgoalsin
regardstocurriculum,instruction,andpromotingasenseofschoolcommunity.Goals
inmath,reading,andwritingwerealsooutlined.Lastly,thepresentationincluded
updatedstatisticsoncurrentstudentenrollmentandclasssizes.
