Dear Parents,

My name is Richelle Colucci-Nunn, and I am a student teacher in Mrs.

s classroom this fall. Your children know me as Mrs. Nunn, and since I will
be working with your child on a daily basis until mid-December, I wanted to take this
opportunity to introduce myself.
On a personal note: I am married and have one son, who is a senior in high
school. I enjoy mountain biking, snowboarding, and of course, working with children!
I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Juniata College,
but I worked for more than twenty years as a senior manager in the healthcare field
before choosing to follow my dream of teaching elementary school children. I am
currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum
from Drexel University in conjunction with my teaching certification.
I have already completed field experiences in various grades in several
elementary
schools
within

and
school districts as part of my teacher preparation
program. These experiences have not only helped me grow professionally; they have
also confirmed my career-change decision! My passion for helping others achieve
their potential has found a focus in working with young children.
This is my first experience working with first grade students, and I am already
enjoying it tremendously. My bucket is filled every day (ask your child about that!)
when I see the children working so diligently and determinedly on their sight words,
handwriting, journal entries, math worksheets, and illustrations and when I see them
showing kindness to others, which they do so often.
Over the next weeks and months, I will be taking on gradually increasing
responsibilities for classroom instruction and management, eventually teaching the
class for the entire day. I therefore invite you to contact me with any questions or
concerns you may have; my goal is to provide your child with a positive learning
experience every day, and I welcome your partnership in that effort! I can be
reached by email (Richelle@Drexel.edu) and by phone at school (610-).
It has been a pleasure getting to know all the children in these first two weeks
of school. I suspect that they have much to teach me about being a teacher, and I
thank you for the opportunity to learn from them while I learn from Mrs. . I
will embrace all they have to offer with compassion, patience, an open mind, and an
eager heart.
It was so nice to meet some of you at Back to School Night, and I look forward
to meeting the rest of you at conferences if I dont meet you before then!
Warm Regards,

Richelle Colucci-Nunn
