Why would a vasectomy lower testosterone levels?
The link between low testosterone levels and vasectomy is still controversial although
preliminary studies suggest there may be a connection. According to such studies, vasectomy
lowers testosterone levels in the sense that after vasectomy, the body develops autoimmune
disorder, a self-attacking disorder, which leads to anti-sperm as well as other complex antibodies
in the human blood (E Nieschlag; H M Behre; S Nieschlag; Adrology; 2010).
However, other studies suggest that the testosterone remains unaffected and only the vas
deferens is involved, which is the pathway that allows sperms to exit.
