IN THE SPACE BELOW, DESCRIBE THE ARTIFACT AND HOW IT RELATES TO
THE CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK OF THE EDUCATION PROGRAM: The artifact is
a phonics activity for kindergarten language arts. To form the activity and rubric all three

factors in the conceptual framework were used. Content knowledge was important to
create the information shared in the activity. Pedagogy was important to create the
procedures of learning in the activity, and diversity was addressed when addressing the
diversified learner in the activity.
IN THE SPACE BELOW, DESCRIBE AND EXPLAIN IN WHAT WAY(S) THIS
ARTIFACT RELATES TO THE COURSE OBJECTIVE(S) YOU ALIGNED IT WITH
AND HOW IT CONTRIBUTED TO YOUR GROWING COMPETENCE IN THE
EDUCATION PROGRAM: The course objectives were important to the construction of
the phonics activity. I had to use my understanding of early intervention theories to
create an appropriate activity. The activity allows the observer to gather data on what
the student knows and can be adapted for current phonics lessons. This information can
be measured and used to make decisions on instruction. The activity is diversified for
students with developmental or special needs. While creating this activity it helped
develop my understanding of readiness skills for this level and helped me understand
how to assess and teach them.
