What I notice

Thoughts, Questions, Connections to

Methods Classes

The students enjoy the workshop model

and are very excited when able to use it for
social studies

Ive seen the K-W-L chart several times

now and Ive noticed that not only do the
teachers enjoy it, but the students do as
well. They often refer back to it when
discussing things in class.

I noticed that my cooperating teacher

would often tie her social studies time in
with her reading and writing workshops.
Students often get off task when working
with the workshop model
Students often got lost on what came or
what to do next after completing one
assignment
The classroom environment was very
relaxed and the students fed off the feeling

The two for one with writing and social

studies or reading and social studies allows
the students more instruction time, instead
of having to switch from one to the other.
Due to the lack of time spent on social
studies and I am afraid students will loose
out on vital information about history or
loose out on the opportunity to enjoy
history
