Dribbler Returns to Somewhere State University
(PICTURESQUE, Kan., April 10)Former Somewhere State University player Don Dribbler has been named the new head coach of the SSU Fighting Pigeons. Dribbler graduated in 1993 and played for former coach Larry Losealot for 3 years. Dribbler has been coaching high school basketball for the past 18 years where he has won nine Kansas State Championships ranging from classes 1A-6A. He plans to have as much success at the next level coaching college basketball. Dribbler coached his first 10 years at Smalltown, Kan., where he had of 206-51 and five class 1A state Championships. He then moved to Midsize, Kan., where he went 61-12 for three seasons and led them to two class 3A Titles. After, He moved to Ginormous High School in Wichita, Kan., where he coached the past five seasons with a record of 94-35 and two class 6A titles. While playing for Somewhere State University (SSU) dribbler was a shooting guard. He averaged 15 points per game his senior year, when the pigeons won the Flat Plains Conference (FPC) championship. The pigeons lost the national championship that year to Directional Tech, 78-77. Dribbler took the final shot in that game, but the ball rimmed out. Dribbler is highly motivated after that loss and believes he has some unfinished business at SSU. He noted that SSU is where the love the game developed much more than just a job and he wants to avenge his championship game from 1993.

Things are about to change around here, said Dribbler. My philosophy
is a more up tempo, full court pressure defense and offense. Dribbler plans to utilize the players he has, and bring in some new recruits including Brian Rainy, a 63 shooting guard Garden State Community College. -MoreDribbler plans on recruiting within 100 mile radius and then after he gets what he needs he will start moving out farther. He wants to bring in players with length and stamina. Whoever plays here will have to be able to score, said Dribbler. If a player is a defensive specialist we probably wont be able to use him with my style. Dribbler will also be bringing in two new assistant coaches to the program. Dribbler graduated with a degree in Marketing from SSU and plans to utilize his skills. He wants to increase ticket sales by planning a strong schedule with quality opponents. He also wants the students to be heavily involved with the team and hopes they pack Stewart Field House every night. Dribbler brings along his wife, Doris, and two children. His son Dennis is 16, and his daughter Denise is 12. Dennis is currently a sophomore at Ginormous HS, where he is a member of the basketball team. The family is excited about moving. ###
