PowerPointcanbeapowerfulwaytoguidestudentsthroughapresentation,addvisualemphasis,
andmakeuseofmultimediatoshowexamplesorillustrateapoint.StudentsreportthatPowerPoint
canbehelpful,dependingonhowitisused,butinsomewaysitcanalsodistractthemfromwhatthe
instructorissayingoroverwhelmthemwithahighspeedflowofinformationthatleaveslittletime
tothink,reflectontheirquestions,orlearn.ThisBulletinidentifiesconsiderationsformakingthe
bestuseofPowerPointasatooltosupportlearninginyourclass.
