Team Project 2013


The client (instructor) requires the planning and
construction of a model bridge.
Client Specifications:
1. Length: minimum 70cm long to be able to be
supported over 60 cm span.
2. Width : The outside width should not exceed 15
cm. A minimum interior width of 12 cm is required.
3. Height: The maximum height should be less than
30 cm. It is measured from the very top to the very
bottom. A clear height of 10 cm is needed from the
bottom of the beam to the floor of the bridge.
4. The bridge needs to support a 2 kg weight at its
center
Materials:
The team can select the materials to be used. Paper
or plastic glue can be used. Super glue is not
allowed.
Cost:
The team is expected to prepare a budget before
construction for the Clients approval.

The client has allocated CZK 500 with 10%
contingency.

Design:
The client is leaving the design of the bridge to the
team. The team is expected to undertake research of
bridge designs. The client requires a simple sketch of
the bridge to be submitted prior to construction
starting.
Team:
Each team is expected to consist of 4/5 people. Each
team member should be allocated a role and
responsibilities using a RACI chart. Some roles to be
considered are:

Purchasing Manager
Construction Engineer
Architect
Accountant
