Maps & Geography

The location of the United
States borders both the North
Atlantic Ocean and North
Pacific Ocean. It is between
Canada and Mexico. The U.S.
total land area is 9, 000,000
square km. The U.S. has vast
central plain mountains in
west, hills and low mountains
in the East. The lowest point
in the U.S. is Death Valley. Its
highest point is Mount
McKinley. The United States
has many natural resources,
which are coal, copper, gold
and so much more. Tsunamis,
volcanoes and earthquakes are
natural hazards. There are
tornadoes in the Midwest and
Southeast. Also, there are
mudslides in California. The
United States is the worlds
third largest country by size. It
has 50 states.

Climates are conditions of the

world. In other words, its like the
weather or the way a place is
over time. Our climate system is
based on the location of hot and
cold air-mass regions. The sun
hits the Earth with its rays all of
the time. When it hits the United
States at 90 degrees it is at a
right angle. Temperatures in
these areas tend to be the hottest
places on Earth. The two trades
of the hemisphere meet near the
equator, causing the air to rise.
The climate of the United States
changes because to large changes
in places. It is humid temperate
in the central and Atlantic
regions. It is also humid in the
Gulf and South Atlantic regions.
Florida has a tropical climate.
The climate along the coast of
California is Mediterranean. The
state of Hawaii in the middle of
the Pacific Ocean is tropical with
rainfall in the cooler season. The
weather and climate in the
United States is very difference
because the climate can be as
cold as the arctic in Alaska and
as warm and tropical in Florida.
In other words, all over the
country is has different types of
weather.

Landmarks of the United

States
Landmarks are important places or items like
The state of New York has about 263
statues that signify a special area or moment.
The Statue of Liberty in New York City is a
landmark of New York. It means peace, unity
and freedom. Mount Rushmore in Keystone,
South Dakota is another landmark. It is a
place that has president heads carved into it.
Another landmark is The Space Needle in
Seattle, Washington. The US Capitol is a
landmark in Washington, DC. Another
landmark is Yellowstone National Park that
goes across Montana, Idaho and Wyoming.
The Arch in St. Louis, Missouri is another
landmark.

landmarks. The state with the second most

landmarks is Pennsylvania with 166
landmarks. In New Hampshire, Mount
Washington is a landmark. Another landmark
is in New Jersey called Cape May Lighthouse.
You would have to walk up 218 steps to reach
the top. Going back to New York, Ellis Island
is a famous landmark. That island is very
important because it is where many
immigrants came to get freedom. There are
many museums in New York that people visit.
Finally, in North Carolina, the Wright
Brothers Memorial is one of many other
landmarks in the United States of America.

The culture of the United

States is western. The
western culture was made by
Native American, African,
Asian, Polynesian, and Latin
American cultures. American
culture started over 10,000
years ago according to my
research. The United States of
American has many different
cultures because many
different kinds of people from
around the world came to the
United States to start a new
life. The United States is also
known as a melting pot
because people from all over
came here and now they are
considered a nation. The
United States is the most
culturally diverse country in
the world. The country has
many different people with
different languages and
religions. The way people
dress and the music they
listen to changes all of the
time because everyone has
different likes.
