Ten teachers attended my One Hour Technology Workshop about implementing Voki in the classroom
on October 30th. During the monthly faculty meetings, staff members are given differentiated workshop
choices. The workshop was attended by a variety of teachers but a majority were a part of the special
education team. This group of teachers work with many students who struggle with the writing process.
The Voki tool is a great resource for all students but in particular for students with disabilities. Nine out
of 10 teachers who participated in the workshop completed the Google Doc survey and the results have
been collected.
Based upon the results of the Google Doc survey, 89% of the participants strongly agree or mostly
agreed that the workshop was well organized. Only one teacher was neutral about the organization of
the workshop. Having a clear and organized technology training is it vital for its success. A majority of
the participants (55%) choose the highest options with strong agree for if the presented was
knowledgeable about the topics. It is important that the participants feel that the presenter know what
they are talking about and is knowledgeable enough to answer any questions or concerns. Not only does
the presenter need to have knowledge about the topic being presented, the materials provided also
have to be clear and understandable. A high majority, 89%, chose the highest two choices on the survey.
They felt that all the resources that were used were clear and would benefit them when trying to
implement the new technology tool. The majority also felt that the workshop was an appropriate length
of time. One hour is the standard set of time that professional learning sessions are conducted at my
school. The staff members felt that the time was use appropriately. Most teachers felt that they would
use the technology in their classroom, but not as many choose the highest strongly agree option. I feel
this comes into play with teachers wanting more than one training before using a new technology in
their classroom by themselves. Hopefully through follow-up support, more teachers will strongly agree

to use the Voki technology tool in their classroom. A majority of 55% strongly agree that other teachers
should participate in the Voki technology workshop. This is important because if teachers speak highly
about the technology tool and the workshop more teachers will want to learn about it as well. Word of
mouth is one of the best ways to spread information about new technology tools. One of the final
survey questions asked if they valued their experience during the training. A high majority of 89%
choose a level 4 or 5. This showed that the workshop was not a waste of time. There were able to leave
with new knowledge about a tool that they can utilize in their classroom. Overall, I feel that the
workshop was a success and the participants were able to learn a new technology tool to better help
their students grow. Follow up plans will be conducted my checking in with the teachers who are
implementing Voki in their classroom. The plan will be for me to help them the day before to make sure
everything is working properly and check in after class to answer any questions or concerns.
