The article clearly shows the immigration population is not a threat to society. The crime
rate has been at its lowest over a thirty year period in the Unites States. Implementing
that our native-born citizens are likely to commit more crime vs. a foreign-born person.
Illegal immigrants are victims of horrible crimes in the United States. The crime rate in
the United States is made of a mixture of people.

Mr. Stuart points out statistics along with facts to inform the people of the period in
which the crime rate has fluctuated and by whom. The article also goes on to inform of
that, illegal immigrants are kidnapped, held for ransom, and beaten in order to come to
this country. The crime does not have mercy towards anyone. It informs the community
of the growth of crime amongst the men that are native born to this country vs. in a
certain age rage, and explaining who is more involved in criminal activity with credible
data.

The source is very objective pointing out that at times people are misinformed of the
situation concerning the illegal immigrants. There is knowledgeable information on
different situations with the illegal immigrant community. It makes me firmly stand my
ground to help and become an advocate for the illegal immigrant community.

Immigrants, Whether Legal or Illegal, Are Substantially Less Likely to Commit
Crimes or to Be Incarcerated than U.S. Citizens." worldhunger.org. 2008.
Opposing Viewpoints in Context

Barry argues that several studies show that all illegal immigrants are less likely to
engage in criminal activity vs. the native-born U.S. population. Barry also contends that
many fear-mongering stories are fabricated instead of scientific studies. Media always
plays a huge part on demonizing the illegal immigrants. However, Barry goes to show
with credible information the opposite of what they have tried to impose on society.

This article is an excellent piece of information; it explains why the media is to blame for
the image that is enforced upon the illegal immigrants. In the article, I read about groups
that have a major role in making a bad impression for immigrants, the Center for
Immigration Studies, and Federation for American Immigration Reform these groups

have done nothing more but make these illegal immigrants project images of criminals.
This source is terrific because it explains how this myth has been deeply rooted in
Americas public. This information also relates to my topic showing that immigrants are
less likely to break the law.

It was somewhat helpful; the impression of this article was not very great. I felt that the
author was not for the illegal immigrants expressing that this is a public issue. I also
agree with the authors standpoint about the illegal immigration needing to be
addressed for both the benefit of the immigrant and this country. The author also
informs that fear is a great factor letting the reader now not to be persuaded by
emotions and look at fact to help improve the illegal immigration problems.

Critical Role Of Location And Politics." Analyses Of Social Issues & Public Policy

Fryberg states this article proves how the media plays an important role in how
American public views controversial social and political issues such as immigration. The
key factors of the media are examined in depth along with location, and political
ideology. An analysis was conducted using three weeks of newspaper articles from two
Arizona newspapers, and five national newspapers for a debate that was conducted on

how the media frames the immigration debate. Explaining why the media fabricate the
attitude towards immigrants.

The article has great information explaining and proving that the media is one of the
main reasons that illegal immigrants suffer attitudes from Americans. This shapes my
argument by informing me that illegal immigrants are thought of as a threat to the public.
The topic is considered "illegal immigrant problem.

This article points out that low- skilled illegal immigrants have less crime rate vs.
Americans. Enforcing that the illegal immigrants encourage Americans to continue with
their education, and older workers to improve their job skills. Heather Mac Donald
expresses that the immigration policy is creating a second under class and that is of
serious concern. This was not the first time the United States had a wave of low- skilled
immigrants to flow into America, and some native-born Americans feared an explosion
of crime was coming amongst them. Almost a century later, the Hispanic population is
growing rapidly but the illegal immigrants have had the fastest growth in the past two
decades. Imposing that the illegal immigrant population will import poverty. Portraying
the illegal immigrant as a low skilled immigrant informing that the future generations will
have less education. Therefore, immigrants will be less prone to commit crime.

Fantastic source it informs the people that this is not the first time the U.S. has had an
illegal immigrant population arrive in this country. It also shows the way the country
coped with this era. It also emphasizes that the arrival of the foreign born is an incentive
for the native born to improve their education and skills. A study that the Cato Institution
by Peter Dixon and Maureen Rimmer estimated that a twenty nine percent increase will
boost in the U.S. economy by as much as $180 billion a year. The article has reliable
details about the help illegal immigrants are to this country and that crime rate has been
at its all-time lowest in over four decades.

This article was of great help to me because it informed of a similar situation before that
occurred previously and how the country progressed. The information shows what some
of the opinions on illegal immigrants are about economy and crime rate. Great statistics
and data go along with this writing to sustain what the facts about illegal immigration
very descriptive writing. Now I can say I love this topic even more!

Concentration On Changes In Neighborhood Crime Rates." Journal Of
Quantitative Criminology 29.2 (2013): 191-215. Academic Search Complete.

The article does investigation on illegal immigrants being the prime reason why the City
of Los Angeles has reduced crime rates in their neighborhoods. They used information
obtained from different years, and considering other demographics to obtain this
information. The researchers find that illegal immigrants are not increasing crime rate

when they settle into disadvantaged areas but their kids and generations to come might
not be as fortunate.

This source was very useful because they gathered information in a city that is over
populated with illegal immigrants, and proved that they are not increasing crime rate
they are actually decreasing the crime rate. The reading in various occasions has
stressed the fact that the illegal immigrants that they end up residing in place where
there is a great amount of poverty. In comparison with another article, this has been
said about illegal immigrants and their settlement patterns. The department of
criminology at the University of Pennsylvania conducted this very reliable study.

I obtained various pieces of data and reviewed graphs to prove the writing in this article.
The only other issue rising is that some illegal immigrants are systematically less likely
to report crimes to the police vs. any other groups. In Los Angeles a law was
established in 1979 to not initiate police action this is one of the main reasons illegal
immigrants go to cities like this and find refuge, but this shows that even when they over
populate a place there is a great outcome. Establishing a link between an increased
immigration populations and declining crime in neighborhoods is a great establishment.
Demonstrating that illegal immigrants do no increase the crime rate in this city. The
country will encourage further test from other U.S. cities. This has enlightened me to
want to be the first to ask city officials Charlotte, NC. About running a crime rate test
here.

U.S. Latino Community. Ed. Margaret Haerens. Detroit: Greenhaven Press, 2011. Unz,
Ron. "Undocumented Latino Immigrants Do Not Increase U.S. Crime Rates." The
Opposing Viewpoints. Rpt. from "His-Panic." The American Spectator (1 Mar.
2010). Opposing Viewpoints in Context

Media like always giving illegal immigrants the blame for increased crime rate in the
United States.Unz goes to inform with facts that indeed there is a misperception about
Immigrants. Unz informs that mischaracterizing Hispanic crime rates will discredit antiimmigration arguments in the end. Unz explains the improper use of statistics that can
cause inaccurate information to the FBI Uniform Crime Rate database. Expressing the
involvement illegal immigrants have with border activity. Explaining why this can also
be a factor in this horrible perception that involves the illegal immigrants.

This is a great source it has a vast amount of information that is proportioned to the
reader about a comparison in age and ethnicity with people in the U.S. that show
involvement of the illegal immigrant. It also makes a connection between financial status
and its crime rate involving the illegal immigrant. This article is a little bias smothering to
the reader that Latino gangs have gained notoriety in the U.S. MS- 13, dubbed The
Worlds Most Dangerous Gang I mean just rub it in thats a true turn off that shows that
many Latinos are gang members mostly being illegal immigrant. The goal of this source
shows that Hispanics and whites have a very similar crime rate. The reader will not be
attracted to now that Caucasians and Hispanics are neck to neck in the crime rate
statistics.

The article gives misrepresentation of the situation of the illegal immigrants and crime
rate because it ties them to several different criminal situations. The information in this
article informed me of other reasons why people seem to think Hispanics are always the
ones competing for the incarceration rate with the whites. This article also informed me
that poverty and racism play a big factor in crime rate. I would not use this in my
research project because the author at times in the article secretly threw the illegal
immigrants under the bus by comparing the Caucasian and Hispanic crime rate to an
equal. It did not affect my standpoint with this topic, and Hispanic crime rate to an equal.
It did not affect my standpoint with this topic.

This article does extensive research questioning the influence of immigration on

changes in violent crime between 1990 and 2000. Using greatly accredited sources to
obtain this information .The research is done in cities with the largest increase in
immigration population around 1990-2000 to prove that the homicide rate and robbery
rate were decreased. Wadsworth watches how changes in immigration influenced
changes on homicide and robbery rates between 1990 and 2000. With this information,

he explains how and why this occurred with the immigrant population with detailed and
scholarly research to prove his point.

Amazing research very detailed with great evidence to stand behind the topic. Using
the U.S. Census and Uniform Crime Report to gather accurate and legit data is a great
way to inform the public of crime report outcome involving the foreign born. The article
is just confirming my research about the crime rate and illegal immigrants with
substantial data. The source is very objective by imposing that increase in foreign born
and new immigrants appears to decrease the robbery and homicide rate. Informing the
readers of the correlations of crime it is likely to demonstrate a relationship between city
characteristics that are related to both immigration and violent crimes.

I was informed that poverty, assimilation, and marginalization, antisocial such as crime
is a major factor on illegal immigration and how the research anticipates communities
will grow and crime rate will shrink. Wadsworth identifies the characteristics that shape
the immigration pattern. This article informs readers of the positive outlook on the crime
rate and illegal immigration and even on our economy. Illegal immigrants bring great
benefits to this country in various ways.
