Message Center - Signing Documents

Effective 1/10/14:

Physicians will sign all new transcription reports and documents in the Cerner
Message Center within the PowerChart application.

Use the following steps to sign new transcription reports and other documents in the Cerner
Message Center:
1. Log into PowerChart.

2. Click on Sign in the Documents section of your Inbox.


3. Double-click on the Patient Medical Record to open it for review.

4. The document displays for the


Physician to review.
5. Click on the Modify
icon to
add notes to the scanned medical
record if needed.

6. Enter notes in the comments field
provided. Your notes will display on
the scanned document.

7. Click the Sign

button to save
your note and have your eSignature
embedded in the document.

8. Your eSignature displays on the document with date/time stamp which


captures the time of completion.

9. If you wish to have another Physician


Sign or Review the document, click
the Additional Forward Action checkbox and select sign or review in the
drop down list.

10.Click on the Binoculars to search for


the Physician to send the request to.

11. Search for the Physician, click the Move


button to
add them to the distribution list, and click OK.

12.Click OK to close the Patient Medical Record, or OK &


Next to close the record and proceed to the next request.
