Assessments Scenarios

Formative Assessment Scenario:

Projects and performances:
Students will be split into groups and each group will be given a subject that they
are currently working to master. Students will work together on the subject and
put together a presentation for the rest of the class regarding the information. They
will also develop a set of questions or ask their classmates after their presentation
in order to see if they have learned what the presentation was about.
Writing assignments:
Students will write summaries and/or reflections on what they have learned. They
will need to make sure they use content-specific language in the writings. These
summaries will be shared with the rest of the class to ensure that everyone has
covered all corners of the class. Sometimes some students will remember things
that others will not. This will help with the learning process.
Summative Assessment Scenario:
A final project:

Instructors will have students put together a project throughout the class. At the
end of the class the students are to turn in a final project that covers the entire
course and what the student has learned. The project will need to cover actual
terms from the class that was taught.
A midterm exam:
This is an exam that will be given in the middle of the class term. If the class lasts
6 weeks around the three week mark the instructor will hand out an exam that ask
questions about what has been gone over and learned the first part of class. This
will insure what the students have and have not learned and will let the instruction
know what needs to be gone over again before carrying out the rest of the class.
