6.) Use technology operations and concepts
CCS-7.EE -Solve real-life and mathematical problems using numerical and algebraic expressions and equations.
3. )Solve multi-step real-life and mathematical problems posed with positive and negative rational numbers in any
form (whole numbers, fractions, and decimals), using tools strategically. Apply properties of operations to calculate
with numbers in any form; convert between forms as appropriate; and assess the reasonableness of answers using
mental computation and estimation strategies.

The Lesson Structure: Activities

Students will be lead through a series of examples of computing
percentage problems. Each example problem will have a follow up
question using Kahoot to check for student understanding on the new
skill or concept.

Monitor/Feedback
Instruct students to write this
information in their notes to use
as a guide through the lesson
Assign row leaders to get an iPad
for each person in their row
Give small demonstration of how
to answer kahoot questions
before the first question
Instruct students to write the
examples in their notebooks and
the work for each Kahoot question
Have each Kahoot question on
display on the projector screen

Closing/Assessment
After the class has completed the various examples and questions
through Kahoot, they will be shown their class results as a whole and
what areas they need to work on.

Display the class results on the

projector for the group to see how
well they did
Students will be informally
assessed after completion of each
Kahoot question

minutes

Homework
Students will be assigned 5 problems similar to the problems reviewed in
class to complete on their own individually.

Choose problems that students

need improvement on for
homework along with preselected
problems
Students will be formally assessed
on the completion of the
homework problems.

Self Evaluation of the Lesson

After completing this lesson, I will be able to see where student understanding is on scientific notation, and my own
assessment of teaching the lesson through the data generated from Kahoot.
