Teach and Educational Technology Tool

A. We live in an era that technology is greatly used; it begins with education and
learning by how to incorporate certain tools that will benefit our learning skills. In order to
understand these technology tools there are steps that need to be followed and taught correctly.
Teachers of all grades are now integrating technology into the curriculum. The assignment is to
create a presentation using a technology tool such as Animoto to demonstrate examples of
balanced and unbalanced forces. Animoto is a free educational technology tool that allows users
to create and share digital videos using images, videos, music, and text. Students are able to use
Animoto for any subject of any grade level to share information about an assignment. The lesson
will be taught through a video using another educational technology tool, Screencast-O-Matic.
B. Title: Using A Creative Presentation tool for a Science Project
Objective: Students will set up an account and learn how to create a presentation for
a science project using Animoto.
Materials:
Computer Access

I begin my lesson with an instructional video using screencast, so my students can follow
Along to get a better understanding of how to use this technology tool. To begin using Animoto
users must go to the site http://www.animoto.com . Once the site is opened users must create a
free account, I guide them through instructional video on how to set up an account. Where they
are able to sign up by click on the upper right corner sign up or they may sign up as an educator
that provides the user with additional benefits than the free account. I will explain to my
students requirements and objective of the lesson.
Title: Balance or Unbalanced Forces?
Objective: Students will choose a theme of their choice to create a presentation using
technology tool Animoto to demonstrate examples of balance and unbalanced forces.
Materials:
Computer Access
Animoto Account
Flickr Account
Research Sheet
Project Requirements:
Definition of balance and unbalance force using provide resource websites.
Theme of choice that demonstrates examples of balance and unbalanced
forces. (Example of themes: transportation, space, sports, etc.) Must be

approved by the teacher.

Identify four example of balanced forces within your theme and must
include an images that show forces acting on the object, to go along with

each example.
Identify four example of unbalanced forces within your theme and must
include an images that show unbalanced forces acting on the object, to go

along with each example.

Provide a short explanation of why each example is a balance or unbalance
force and indicate the direction of the net force for each example.

The project must be completed using Animoto.

Procedures:
First Day

Complete the research sheet Balance or Unbalance Forces?
Second Day
Put your presentation together on Animoto using the information gathered
from your research sheet.
Third Day
Presentation of the project.
I chose Animoto for this particular lesson on force because this tool makes their
presentation interesting and has their own style. Animoto engages students to learn to use other
creative technology tools than just depending on power point presentations. Students can get
creative not only creating a basic slide show of information along with images; but add important
text, pictures, video clips, music and style that is goes along with the presentation and to their
preference. I used Screencast-o-Matic to present my lesson. The reason I choose Screencast was
because this gives an overview of how to use Animoto for this particular assignment and they
can continue to use this tool with any other subject; so they are able to give a creative input.
Animoto is video creation tool that can produce videos clips, images, text, and
music into a video slideshow. This tool allows you to share your creativeness with anyone; which
is free and easy to use. There are many features that allows you to create your style of work to

embrace it and learn.
Additional to presentation of my lesson from feedback of my peers, I could use the
interactive white board where I can upload my link to present the lesson, while being able to

pause for questions from the students that way I can answer. After viewing the video, the
students could use the interactive board as a hands on activity as an assessment that the students
understood the procedures.
