I begin my lesson with an instructional video using screencast, so my students can follow
Along to get a better understanding of how to use this technology tool. To begin using Animoto
users must go to the site http://www.animoto.com . Once the site is opened users must create a
free account, I guide them through instructional video on how to set up an account. Where they
are able to sign up by click on the upper right corner sign up or they may sign up as an educator
that provides the user with additional benefits than the free account. I will explain to my
students requirements and objective of the lesson.
Title: Balance or Unbalanced Forces?
Objective: Students will choose a theme of their choice to create a presentation using
technology tool Animoto to demonstrate examples of balance and unbalanced forces.
Materials:
Computer Access
Animoto Account
Flickr Account
Research Sheet
Project Requirements:
Definition of balance and unbalance force using provide resource websites.
Theme of choice that demonstrates examples of balance and unbalanced
forces. (Example of themes: transportation, space, sports, etc.) Must be
each example.
Identify four example of unbalanced forces within your theme and must
include an images that show unbalanced forces acting on the object, to go

Procedures:
First Day
Student will select a theme and get approved by teacher.
Using the provided websites, student must research balanced and
unbalanced forces.

Second Day
Put your presentation together on Animoto using the information gathered
from your research sheet.
Third Day
Presentation of the project.
I chose Animoto for this particular lesson on force because this tool makes their
presentation interesting and has their own style. Animoto engages students to learn to use other
creative technology tools than just depending on power point presentations. Students can get
creative not only creating a basic slide show of information along with images; but add important
text, pictures, video clips, music and style that is goes along with the presentation and to their
preference. I used Screencast-o-Matic to present my lesson. The reason I choose Screencast was
because this gives an overview of how to use Animoto for this particular assignment and they
can continue to use this tool with any other subject; so they are able to give a creative input.
Animoto is video creation tool that can produce videos clips, images, text, and
music into a video slideshow. This tool allows you to share your creativeness with anyone; which
is free and easy to use. There are many features that allows you to create your style of work to

make a great presentable video. Once you have created an Animoto video then your basic
slideshows will be the past.

Procedures:
Begin by going to the site https://www.animoto.com and signing up to a
free account.

You click sign up on the upper right corner to sign up for a free account
and follow the instructions or an educator can gain more benefits by
scrolling down and clicking on Education then apply now.
After signing up for an account you and logged in you can then begin
creating videos.
On the Animoto home page you will need to click on create video on the

o Begin by changing the title. You will need to click on the words My
Animoto Video on the left side of the blue bar; which will allow you
to change the settings.
o Within the settings box you can adjust the settings by changing the
Title to your choice, producer, date, description and thumball. After
adjusting the setting click on save.
o You can now adjust your music options. The music options already
provide with a default song that goes along with the style; but you
are able to change the music.
o When wanting to change the music you must click on the song title
which will pop up change music dialogue box. Here you are able to
choose from a variety of music or upload your own song of your
choice. Once you choose your song you will need to click on add
song. If you want to keep your default song then you will click on
the x on the right corner.
o You can now add videos or images by clicking on the left menu
side Add Pics & Vids or click on the plus sign in the center of the
box and click on the left icon which will pop up picture/ video
dialogue box. You are able to upload images from your computer
or from media sites such as Flickr.
o After uploading images you are able to rearrange your images in
the order you want.
o You can also add and arrange a text to your video to describe an
image by clicking on the left menu side Add Text or click on the
plus sign in the center of the box and click on the right icon. You
are now able to enter text within two areas the Title or Subtitle

which gives you a number at the right of each box that indicates
how many characters you are able to enter. Then after adding your
TEACH TECHNOLOGY
pause for questions from the students that way I can answer. After viewing the video, the
students could use the interactive board as a hands on activity as an assessment that the students
understood the procedures.
