WIU Livestock Judging
Contest
Western Illinois University hosted an
Inventational Livestock Judging
Competition for high school FFA members
on April 3rd. The purpose of the
competition was to evaluate the livestock
as compared to the official scoring. The
students were broken up into 10 groups
and were required to judge three classes
of swine, beef, and sheep.
Each division had one class of questions
and data that students were quizzed on
later in the contest. Havana High School
students, Rachel Fornoff, Eileen Urish,
Erin Hodgson, Jacqueline Ishmael, and
Courtney Richardson, attended the
contest and placed 23rd out of a total of
66 teams. Individually on the team Eileen
Urish placed first, Rachel Fornoff second,
Erin Hodgson third, Jacqueline Ishmael
fourth and Courtney Richardson Fifth.
